Brilliant jazz saxophonist Wessell "Warmdaddy" Anderson will appear tonight (Thursday, November 12th at 8 and 10 p.m.) at Snug Harbor along with Victor Adkins (p), Ed Perkins (s), Troy Davis (d) and Roland Guerin (b) in what promises to be incredible shows.
On Wednesday, Professor Anderson (he currently is teaching at Michigan State University in East Lansing) worked with a myriad of young artists in the UNO's Jazz Studies Department --- then finished the day playing along with these musicians at the Sandbar. Included in the ensemble was an extremely talented trombonist known at "Quad" Anderson...Wess' son.
Before the Snug Harbor appearances, "Warmdaddy" will stop by WWOZ for an interview with Jelly Roll Justice during "Jazz from the Market" (4 to 7 p.m.) and will discuss his latest album and his current work.
