Tour of America at 200 –The Marquis de Lafayette and his visit to New Orleans | Saturday, December 14th | 9:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Tickets: Free for Jefferson & Orleans Parish Students | $30 FOC Members / $40 Non-Members The Friends of the Cabildo will host its 11th annual educational symposium via zoom for members, general admission and students of Orleans and Jefferson Parish. The day will include six (6) speakers on the life of Lafayette, his role in the American Revolution, his time in France during the French Revolution and his extraordinary visit to the United States 50 years after the founding of the country from 1824-1825. Mostly staying in cities for the day, Lafayette was so enthralled by New Orleans he stayed for 5 days and held court in the Sala Capitular of the Cabildo We will explore his time here and bring in speakers who will discuss this man’s extraordinary life.
