This weekend, I'll help you to get ready for one of my super funky heroes, Bootsy Collins, returning to town next weekend. He'll perform at the House of Blues New Orleans on Friday, October 25. However, on this Saturday, October 19, I'll do a special Bootsy-Thon mini marathon on my "Soul Power" show, 8-10pm CST, complete with all of the Funk that he's been involved with as an integral member of James Brown's JB's, Parliament-Funkadelic, and his own Bootsy's Rubber Band (also part of the P-Funk family). Plus, there will be giveaways to the HOB show. May the funkiest funkateer win!

And in addition to Saturday night's Bootsy-Thon on WWOZ, I'm inviting you to come out during the daytime to the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival. On Saturday (Oct. 19) between 1:00-2:00 p.m., visit the WWOZ tent (shared with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundaton), located in the middle of the festival near the statue. Not only will you meet me, but you will also be able to register to win a pair of tickets to see Bootsy at HOB!
