The Iguanas blend the sounds and rhythms of the Crescent City’s signature blues, jazz, and R & B with the region’s heavy Caribbean and Latin musical influences to create an infectious and unique sound. The roots rock band, formed in 1989, includes Rod Hodges, Joe Cabral, Rene Coman, and Doug Garrison, all veteran musicians who move fluidly among styles (Conjunto, Tex Mex, blues,  straight-ahead rock), instruments (Hodges’ guitar and accordion, Cabral’s saxophone and Mexican bajo sexton), and languages (English, Spanish).  The Iguanas have long beena staple of the New Orleans club scene but tour the world as popular festival headliners as they stake their own claim as to what is “Americana” music. They have played with Charlie Rich, Alex Chilton, Bruce Springsteen, and Allen Toussaint, and their music is heard in several films and throughout the HBO series “Treme.” Fan favorites include “Boom Boom Boom,” “Para Donde Vas,” and “Oye, Isabel;” recent releases include the 2020 album “Don’t Walk the Darkness” with Will Sexton, and two singles with Alex McMurray, the 2021 “Ignacio” and the 2022 “My Everything.”
