Esther Rose

Esther Rose is a Michigan-born, New Orleans-honed country singer-songwriter with evocative storytelling skills and an equally powerful voice. She got her start in New Orleans, collaborating with guitarist Luke Winslow-King, to whom she was married for two years. She released her first album, This Time Last Night, in 2017 to critical acclaim.

She continued to record and perform before moving to New Mexico, where she created her most recent release, the 2023 Safe to Run and continues to tour regionally and internationally. The eleven-track record offers vignettes that speak to the human experience with rich, country overtones and catchy, pop-y hooks, with topics ranging from sexism in the music industry to what she calls “dive bar drama.” The title track offers a fine duet with Alynda Segarra of Hooray for the Riffraff.
