Erica Falls may be best known as the singer for Galactic, a spot she held for some five years, but the talented vocalist owns her own stage with a loyal following eager for her unique blend of neo-soul sounds, sassy stage presence, original tunes and arrangements, and impeccable renditions of the classics. Raised in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward, Falls’ musical development was influenced by her parents’ love of legendary singers like Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Roberta Flack, and Sarah Vaughn. In addition to performing with her own band and with Galactic, Falls has put out several of her own releases, and sung and recorded with luminaries including Allen Toussaint, Joe Sample, Sting, No Doubt, Jennifer Hudson, Dr. John, and John Fogarty.
