Lo Faber is perhaps best known as the leader of the jam band favorite God Street Wine, but after the band broke up, he earned a PhD in history from Princeton, started teaching at Loyola University New Orleans, and has now returned to a musical career under the name Dr. Lo. His New Orleans performances feature a solid rhythm section including drummer Michael “Fu” Fuquier, Radiators’ bassist Reggie Scanlan and rhythm guitarist Mark Fernandez, along with a steady stream of special guests playing both covers and Faber originals, such as the title cut to his latest record, “Claiborne Avenue.”
