Craig Cortello, The “Canine Crooner,” is a local singer/songwriter specializing in music honoring man's best friend. His Dog Tales album that was released in September 2022 has been featured on WWL, WGNO (New Orleans) and WLOX (Biloxi) on TV, in Pup & Purr and Offbeat magazines in print, and on WWOZ radio. The album included a stellar lineup of local jazz musicians on the studio recording, including GRAMMY winner Craig Klein (New Orleans Nightcrawlers) on trombone, Belinda Moody on upright bass, and Chris Guccione on drums. All proceeds from streaming/CD sales and live performance benefit local animal rescue organizations. The album release included a music video of the album’s signature song “Go Adopt a Puppy,” featuring rescue dogs from Louisiana SPCA, Northshore Humane Society, and Zeus’ Rescues.
