On Monday, August 24, the Crescent City Cultural Continuity Conservancy (C5) is hosting a talk, "Ten Years After: The State of New Orleans Music and Culture," that will be video-streamed live on WWOZ.org. The talk will consist of a panel of representatives who give voice to New Orleans musicians and tradition-bearers as they share their experiences and perspectives during and following Hurricane Katrina. The talk will be moderated by Larry Blumenfeld, a journalist who covered music and culture in New Orleans for the Wall Street Journal in the time after the storm and flood. Panel participants will also address the future of New Orleans music, art, and culture.

Lolis Eric Elie, story editor for "Treme" and co-producer of "Faubourg Treme: The Untold Story of Black New Orleans"
Jordan Hirsch, founding director of Sweet Home New Orleans and writer for HBO's "Treme"
Tamara Jackson, executive director of Silence is Violence and president of the Social Aid & Pleasure Club Task Force
Fred Johnson, director of the Neighborhood Development Foundation, founding member of the Black Men of Labor Social Aid and Pleasure Club, and former Yellow Pocahontas Mardi Gras Indian Spy Boy
Howard Miller, president of the Mardi Gras Indian Council
Bennie Pete, leader of the Hot 8 Brass Band

"Ten Years After" is happening at Live from Basin St. Station, located at 501 Basin St., from 6:30-8:30p on Monday, August 24. It is open to the public and free to attend. If you are unable to attend, you can watch on WWOZ.org.
