Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes is the leader of Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots and Big Chief of the Northside Skull & Bones Gang. Sunpie is a multi-instrumentalist musician whose repertoire includes accordion, harmonica, rub board, piano, talking drum, and more. The group plays zydeco and blues music ("Afro-Louisiana") and will be appearing at WWOZ in anticipation of their appearance at Cajun Zydeco Fest on Saturday, June 23 (4:15-5:30p). 

Sunpie has a passion for preserving traditions, both musically and culturally, and continues to keep them alive and pass them on to young people each year.
