WWOZ Celebrates 41 Years on December 4On Saturday December 4, from noon to 6 pm, we'll celebrate our 41st birthday by broadcasting a six-hour program, "The Story of WWOZ," covering the epic history of the station from its founding to the present day. You'll hear interviews, performances, and program excerpts from the station's 41 years on the air, including the voices of many beloved WWOZ show hosts, past and present. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and maybe scratch your head in bewilderment as we share with you the story of our long, strange trip -- don't miss it! |

Volunteer Profile: Ava Daniel-JohnsonVolunteer Ava Daniel-Johnson, born and raised in Gretna (McDonoughville), first heard about WWOZ in 1991 as a Jazz Fest Volunteer for the Jazz & Heritage Foundation. When Jazz Fest ran out of open shifts, Ava was "told to call 'OZ because they needed people. I am very happy I did this. Best decision ever! Volunteering is important to me because it has given me opportunities to meet people from diverse backgrounds." Ava Daniel-Johnson is an outstanding volunteer: she's highly motivated, efficient, and works hard. We are so grateful to have her on the 'OZ team. Thank you, Ava! |

Recipe: Pumpkin Chiffon PieHere's a way to be true to holiday tradition (it's a pumpkin pie!), while upping your pie game with something different. The airy chiffon filling is produced by folding meringue and gelatin into a mixture of spices and pumpkin. |
